STON.fi is a DEX providing minimal fees and a simple interface. This is a fully decentralized exchange for swapping any coins on the TON network. The service doesn't access your funds, nor does it request personal information or KYC.

One of the ways to earn on a DEX is through farming, which involves earning returns by providing liquidity in liquidity pools. These are special smart contracts where funds are securely stored, and at any time, they can be withdrawn back to your wallet.

Adding liquidity

1. Open this page in any browser and connect your wallet via TON Connect. We recommend using MyTonWallet.

2. Click on Add liquidity and proceed to add liquidity. At this step, you will need to provide an equal amount of GRAM and TON coins. At the current exchange rate, it looks like this:

The coins in the pool are always placed in a 1:1 ratio. So, at an exchange rate of $3 for 1 TON and $1 for 1 GRAM, for every 1000 TON, you'll need to deposit 3000 GRAM.

Enter any amount in GRAM, and the corresponding amount in TON will appear automatically in the second field. Then, click the Provide Liquidity button and confirm the transaction in your connected wallet.

Now you have LP tokens in your balance, which confirm ownership of a certain share of all the coins placed in the pool. Their volume continuously grows thanks to the fees left by other users making exchanges, and consequently, your share increases as well. At any time, you can exchange LP tokens back for GRAM and TON.

Farming

1. Return to the GRAM/TON pool page, where you'll find a button to start farming your coins. Click on Farm.

2. Verify and confirm the transaction in your connected wallet.

Impermanent Loss

It's worth noting that traders on decentralized exchanges occasionally experience impermanent losses — temporary losses incurred while holding a position on a decentralized exchange based on the automatic market maker (AMM) mechanism. They represent the difference in asset value when held in a wallet (HODL) versus held in a liquidity pool. Impermanent losses primarily occur in classic pools where the liquidity provider (LP) must provide both assets in equal proportion, and one of the assets is volatile relative to the other.

Step 1. In the list of staked LP tokens, select the desired one and click on Unstake.

What is liquid staking?

In traditional staking, coins are locked until you withdraw them. Liquid staking allows you to receive a "receipt" in the form of STAKED tokens, fully backed by the coins you've staked, effectively keeping them in your wallet. When you withdraw, these "receipts" are burned, and you get back your TON and rewards. All this happens within the blockchain; you just need to press a button and confirm the operation.

What can I do with STAKED coins?

You can use them like regular TON coins, such as sending them to friends or exchanging them on DEX. In the future, they can be used in various services alongside TON.

Where do the rewards come from?

Validator rewards come from transaction fees and other blockchain rewards. The validator then shares these profits with you, proportionate to the TON you've staked.

How safe is this?

Why can't I see my stake?

The mechanism is that the user blocks their TONs in a special smart contract, receiving in return a derivative (derivative) - a wrapped token. Like in many other networks, in The Open Network blockchain, the same address can be recorded in different formats for different purposes. There are three address formats in The Open Network: Bounceable, Non-bounceable, and RAW (HEX):

Bounceable

The most common and standard format is considered to be Bounceable. This format is the simplest and most readable, and it is used by regular users for standard transactions on the network. If you send a transaction from some wallets to an uninitialized address (a new wallet with no outgoing transactions) in the bounceable format, the coins will bounce back with the deduction of fees. In simple terms, the checksum embedded in the bounceable address format protects users from erroneous transfers, such as in the case of a typo.

Non-bounceable

According to the developers' intention, coins should not be sent to an erroneous address.

RAW (HEX)

The RAW (HEX) format is indeed more technical and lengthy, but it specifically represents the blockchain in which the address is created and its "address" on the blockchain. In most cases, HEX is used by advanced users and developers.

In the near future, all wallets in TON are transitioning to the non-bounceable format, so don't be surprised if, using the same key, you see different address formats in different wallets. It depends on the developers of the specific wallet and the format they have chosen, but official services will tend to adopt the new format.

Community developers have introduced a new Locker smart contract, which allows any TON holder to lock their coins for a period of 5 years: 2 years of lockup and 3 years of vesting. The contract's logic enables long-term holders to make deposits in TON, while large holders can make donations that will be distributed among depositors in the future.

Using this contract, the TON Believers Fund or simply The Locker has been launched by the community. Through The Locker, users can make deposits or contribute donations. The smart contract's operation is divided into several phases, let's go through each of them in detail:

Deposits are accepted until October 23, 2023. After that, the coins will be locked inside the smart contract for 2 years. Then, starting from October 12, 2025, the coins, along with a share of the rewards, will begin to be distributed among all those who made deposits – this phase will last for another 3 years. All contributions made will be used as rewards for depositors.

The benefit of the smart contract lies in the fact that users who make deposits will receive much more TON after some time, as part of the TON will be temporarily removed from circulation, which will have a positive impact on the TON price. If you plan to hold a portion of your purchased coins for an extended period, this is the most profitable way to preserve and multiply them, similar to a bank deposit with increased interest earnings.

Bridge is a special service that connects several different blockchains. It is needed to transfer tokens from one network to another, so that one coin can use the functionality and advantages of different blockchains.

Let's take a closer look at how the bridge works. When a token leaves the first blockchain, it is locked in a special smart contract, while a temporary copy of it is created in the second blockchain. The control of the issuance and burning of coins between blockchains is carried out by oracles - trusted network participants who guarantee their honesty with a large deposit in Toncoin, similar to blockchain validators.

Currently, the bridge works with the Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain networks, allowing the transfer of UDST, USDC, and DAI tokens.

The commission is 1 TON, regardless of the transfer amount, and you will also need to pay the commission of the second blockchain for the token transfer.

Instruction

First of all, you need to download the MetaMask browser extension, which can be done on the official website: metamask.io

Please note that in order to transfer and use coins in other blockchains, you will need coins to pay for transaction fees. In Binance Smart Chain, fees are paid in BNB, and in Ethereum, fees are paid in ETH.

Also, install MyTonWallet, the best browser extension wallet for TON. You can create a new address or log in to an existing one.

Transfer from Ethereum to TON

1. Open the bridge.ton.org website and click on "Connect Wallet".
2. Choose the token you want to transfer, for example USDT.
3. Enter the amount you want to transfer. In the "Receiving Address" field, enter your address in the TON network.

4. Click on the "Approve" button to approve the use of your USDT by the bridge. Confirm the transaction in MetaMask. You can set the amount for approval in MetaMask higher than the current transfer amount, so that you don't have to approve every time in the future. After the transaction is processed, the "Transfer" button will appear.

5. Click on the "Transfer" button and confirm the transaction in MetaMask. Do not close the page and wait for 65 blocks to be confirmed in the Ethereum network.

6. After that, click on the "Get UDST" button and pay 1 TON in the opened window of MyTonWallet extension.

7. Wait for the confirmation of the transfer, after which the tokens will be automatically sent to your address in the TON network. The token will have a ticker jUSDT – this is done to avoid naming conflicts when launching the original USDT for the TON network in the future.

Transfer from TON to Ethereum

1. Open bridge.ton.org and choose right direction for bridge.

2. Select the token for transfer (in our case, USDT that has ticker jUSDT at TON) and enter the amount to transfer. In the Ethereum Receiving Address field, enter the address of your Ethereum wallet, such as MetaMask.

Then click the Transfer button and confirm the transaction.

Each wallet in TON is an independent smart contract that stores the user's balance and can interact with other smart contracts on demand, not only for simple TON transfers, but also for decentralized subscriptions, nominating coins to validators and more.

Jettons work on the same principle, each user can have jettons on their balance in the form of smart contracts that will be managed by a common wallet smart contract.

Of course, interfaces will simplify such interactions and most will not go into such details. Nevertheless, it does affect the principles of displaying balances in wallets and explorer.

Thanks to the launch of the nominator’s smart contracts, every network user can now send their coins to staking and get up to 14% per annum in TON.

How to stake TON coin

1. Go to the pool’s page >

2. Press the ADD STAKE button or scan the QR-code using Tonkeeper or any other TON Wallet.

3. After you are transferred to the wallet, please, enter the amount of TON and then send the transaction. After that TON coins will be added to staking.

If the wallet does not open automatically, you can send the transaction manually by copying the pool address. The minimum deposit for the nominator is 10,001 TON, add a comment d (small letter) to the transaction, as in the screenshot above, and send it through any TON wallet. From the sent transaction, 1 TON will be debited as a commission for processing the deposit.

How to return coins

To get coins back after staking, send 1 TON to the pool’s address, but instead of “d” fill in the “w” letter. This 1 TON minus commission will be returned, and a smart-contract will understand that you want to bring the coins back and it will send them back right after the end of the validator’s work cycle.

To return coins partly is impossible, stake always returns back fully. It usually takes up to 18 hours.

Every nominator and validator possesses a certain percentage of coins from the total emission, and by putting coins in the staking, you can influence the decision-making process on the upcoming updates. New votings will be published on the official channels @tonblockchain and @tonstatus.

Open validator’s page on tonscan.org and go to the VOTINGS tab.

Then you can choose any of the open votings and cast your vote by making the blockchain transaction and choosing the corresponding button to approve or decline the suggestion.

Rich Cats are the world's first customizable NFTs exclusively for Telegram. You can use them as avatars, transfer them to other people and sell them on TON marketplaces.

The key feature of our NFTs is to modify them by adding accessories and clothes to an existing character. This became possible only on TON blockchain thanks to NFTEditable extension described in our review article about NFTs.

How this works?

After the collection is officially released, you will get access to a special page to modify your NFTs. At the same time, we will start publishing the first items and accessories that you can use to create unique looks for your NFT cats.

From the begging, each NFT will have a starter set of clothes. All cats have the same cost at the presale stage, so you can get very rare and expensive copies that will cost after the release several times higher than the original price.

All items and accessories can be bought, sold and exchanged using the official TON marketplace. We focus on maximising the quality, recognition and value of our NFTs.

We also plan to launch clothing collections in collaboration with famous services and brands, both inside and outside of TON. These items will be distributed through raffles, airdrops for private channels and loot boxes – items like these will be extremely rare and can increase the value and uniqueness of your NFTs. You can see the sneek peek of our constructor and some experimental models below.

The uniqueness of each NFT is ensured not only by adding various elements, but also by different themes and character skins. Clothes is only the second layer used to increase value and uniqueness.

You can buy amazing outfits from various collections on marketplaces, but don't forget that each Rich Cat and each Outfit, Glasses, etc is a separate NFT item so they will always be sold separately.

About 3 years ago, our team launched one of the first TON blockchain validators, we also created the largest products and services: Russian TON channel, tonscan.org explorer, ProTON private channel, tonblockchain.ru, ton.cat and many others.

Our priority is to create a complete ecosystem of apps, bots and services based on TON. We plan to integrate our NFTs into this ecosystem. More details about each integration will be published on our official channel.

In 2015, the Ethereum blockchain saw the arrival of a new standard called ERC-20, allowing anyone to create their own tokens (cryptocurrencies) in the network.

A few years later, in 2018, the ERC-721 standard was introduced for NFTs, which prove ownership over something.

These standards have given birth to the DeFi, or decentralized finance, phenomenon. Exchange, purchase, sale, and other operations in digital assets happen entirely in blockchain's smart contracts.

When trading on centralized venues, you temporarily transfer ownership of your funds to the platform. A successful hacker attack, system malfunction, or data center incident may each cause the loss of all your money. It can also be restricted by the exchange itself, often for no good reason.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that most recently, we've seen surging popularity of decentralized exchanges (DEX), liquidity pools, and other DeFi services that are immune to such shortcomings.

Scalable DeFi

One of the TON's major missions is to ensure mass adoption of decentralized tech.

Exposure to blockchain and cryptocurrency grows by the day, but they are still used only by a small percentage of the world's population.

In order to become a massively-adopted, billion-user-and-transaction-scalable solution, we've invented a new approach toward the design of tokens and DeFi.

In most other chains, a token represents a single smart contract.

The Ethereum-powered USDT token stores balances of all 4 million users in a single smart contract.

All 10,000 NFTs of the Ethereum network's Bored Ape collection are stored in a single smart contract of the collection.

The rest of the tokens and NFTs are built in the same way. Even third-party blockchain projects retain the identical architecture in a bid to preserve their compatibility with Ethereum.

Each and every user turns to just one contract, congesting the single point in the network.

While a blockchain is used by millions, that's somewhat tolerable, but once it enjoys hundreds of millions or even billions of users, that scheme is destined to collapse.

TON-powered tokens and NFTs do not have a single center and do not create bottlenecks.

Each NFT in a given collection is a separate smart contract. The token balance for each user is stored in a separate user wallet.

Smart contracts interact with one another directly, spreading the load on the whole network.

With the growth in user and transaction count, the load will still be even, allowing the network to scale.

The TON network itself employs the infinite sharding mechanism (which implies splitting into subchains in order to withstand loads). The flatter the load, the more efficient that mechanism is.

It's around 500 times less expensive to mint an NFT on TON than on Ethereum. Even if the Toncoin's rate fluctuates significantly, the network fee will stand at the same level.

Thanks to a distributed architecture, the current high speed of processing transactions will remain even when their number increases astoundingly.

Development

TON's implemented new concepts that were unavailable in previous-generation blockchains.

For the last three months, we've been working to locate a proper solution for creating scalable DeFi in TON.

To tell the truth, we didn't immediately find a sound approach to bringing tokens and DeFi as a whole to The Open Network. In order to work in new distributed, asynchronous paradigms, one needs to change the way they think.

But over time, we managed to do just that. Today, we are happy to present ready-made standards and examples of smart contract implementation for Fungible, Semi-Fungible, and Non-Fungible Tokens as well as applied contracts for marketplaces and ICOs.

You can already use them to create any DeFi service that will be ready to onboard a huge number of users. With new approaches come new opportunities, and we've already started covering those.

We are certain that distributed, asynchronous DeFi in TON is one of the developments that brings the mass use of decentralized tech closer than ever.

Validator maintains the blockchain, stores its copies and confirms new transactions using its own servers and providing his work round-the-clock.

TON blockchain inflation is 0.6% per year from the total emission – new coins issued by the blockchain annually. New coins are distributed between validators and nominators in proportion to their contribution, which is called a stake.

If you want to run your own validator you need a sufficient level of technical knowledge, as you will be responsible not only for your own money, but also for the funds of the nominators.

What about costs?

You need at least 300 000 TON  to become a validator – this can be your personal coins or funds raised from nominators, but staking will not work until you have the right amount.

There are more than 200 validators on the blockchain at the moment, and their number will grow in the future and also the entry limit will grow in time.

Rounds

The validation process consists of 18-hour rounds, preceded by a 9-hour voting phase, then the stakes is frozen for another 9 hours.

Yield

Current interest rate is ≈11% APY.

Yield amount depends on the inflation rate, which is 0.6% per year and the total number of coins holding by validators. At the same time, in the original White Paper you can find information about the inflation target of 2%, perhaps over time this value will be accepted, which will increase the current profitability.

Setup and launch

We highly recommend to running your validator on the testnet first.

First you need to rent a dedicated server (Vultr for example) with the recommended configuration or better: 8 vCPUs, 64Gb Memory, 1Tb enterprise SSD with redundancy (hardware or software raid), Fixed IP and 1Gb/s connection.

⚠️ Do not run validators on cloud servers, Hetzner and OVH providers, as well as servers located in Germany and Finland. The network has reached the limit of validators from these locations.

1. Install mytonctrl:

Download the installation script. We recommend to install the tool under your local user account, not as Root. In our example a local user account is used:

Run the installation script as administrator:

2. Operability test

Run mytonctrl from local user account used for installation at step 1:

Check mytonctrl statuses, in particular the following:

• mytoncore status: should be green.
• Local validator status: should be green.
• Local validator out of sync. First a big number displays. Once the newly created validator contacts other validators, the number is around 250k. As synchronization goes on, the number decreases. When it falls below 20, the validator is synchronized.

Look at the list of available wallets. In our example the validator_wallet_001 wallet was created at mytonctrl installation:

3. Send the required number of coins to the wallet and activate it

Go to tonmon.xyz > Participant stakes to check the the minimum amount of coins required to participate in one election round.

• The vas command displays the history of transfers
• The aw command activates the wallet

4. Now your validator is good to go

mytoncore automatically joins the elections. It divides the wallet balance into two parts and uses them as a bet to participate in the elections. You can also manually set the stake size:

set stake 50000 — set the stake size to 50k coins. If the bet is accepted and our node becomes a validator, the bet can only be withdrawn at the second election (according to the rules of the electorate).

To check mytoncrl logs, open ~/.local/share/mytoncore/mytoncore.log for a local user or /usr/local/bin/mytoncore/mytoncore.log for Root.

Running the validator in nominator pool mode

1. Prepare the hardware for the validator - 8 vCPUs, 64gb memory, 1TB SSD, Fixed IP address, 1Gb/s.

Your hardware must comply with the specified configuration or be higher. Do not run the validator on weak hardware - this negatively affects the network and you will be fined.

2. Install and sync mytonctrl as described in https://github.com/ton-blockchain/mytonctrl/blob/master/docs/en/manual-ubuntu.md only paragraph 1, 2 and 3.

3. Send 1 TON to validator wallet address displayed in the list wl.

4.  Type aw to activate validator wallet.

5. Switch to a branch that supports pools:

update dev 

6. Create two pools (for even and odd validation round):

where

• p1 is pool name;
• 0 % is validator reward share (e.g. use 40 for 40%);
• 1 is max nominators count in the pool (should be <= 40);
• 1000 TON is minimum validator stake (should be >= 1K TON);
• 300000 TON is minimum nominator stake (should be >= 10K TON);

(!) pools configurations don't have to be identical, you can add 1 to the minimum stake of one pool to make them different.

7. Type pools_list to display pools addresses:

10. Open each pool by link "https://tonscan.org/nominator/<address_of_pool>" and verify pools configuration.

where 1005 TON is deposit amount. Please note that 1 TON will be debited by the pool for deposit processing.

12. Activate pool mode:

13. Invite nominators to make deposits to your pools. Participation in validation will start automatically.

You need to have at least 200 TON/month on validator wallet for operation fees.

Pools configuration

If you want to lend to yourself then use new_pool p1 0 1 1000 300000 (1 nominator maximum, 0% validator share).

If you are creating a pool for many nominators then use something like this: new_pool p1 40 40 10000 10000 (40 nominators maximum, 40% validator share, 10K TON minimum participant stakes).

Switching a regular validator to nominator pool mode

1. Type set stake 0 to disable participation in elections.
2. Wait for both of your stakes to return from the elector.
3. Complete the "Running the validator in nominator pool mode" steps starting from the 4th step.
